The Spirit Of Soaring Award is awarded each year at the Soaring Nationals Awards Banquet.

This Award was started by the LSF in 1990 to honor a person or persons who have exhibited outstanding Volunteer work at the current or previous R/C Soaring Nationals.

This person or persons do not have to be a contestant.

The recipient is chosen by the Event Director with possible consultation fro other LSF officials.

This award is secured by the Event Director . It is different each year and up to several hundred dollars have been spent with the LSF Boards approval.
