June 18: LSF Day in Rosamond, CA Come out and join us for some great Cross Country flying. This is the place to get the requirements for your Level - III 1km, IV 2km, V 10km. Proof of AMA will be required upon registration. Sign up starts at 9:00 AM with a pilots meeting at 9:30 AM. Flying will continue all day. The frequencies are available on a first come, first served basis. There will be one winch set up & room for one more, there is also space to do aerotowing. Extra batterys may be needed. Be sure to carry plenty of water with you at all times, and remember the suntan lotion! A restroom will be available on site. Overnight camping will be permitted only through prior arrangements with Merrill Brady at mm.glidertech@verizon.net If you want to start on your LSF task contact Merrill Bardy, all it takes is $2 to get started. Directions: From San Diego: Fwy15 North through Cajon Pass. Exit Hwy 138 west through Pearblossom to Palmdale. Exit Hwy 14 North to Rosamond. Exit Ave A going west. Continue 3 miles to a right turn on 60th Ave. Continue 1 mile to a left tun on Gaskel. Continue .8 Mile to a ranch house on the south side of the road. From Los Angeles: Fwy 5 North to Hwy 14. Continue as instructed adove. From San Francisco: Fwy 5 south to Hwy 58 East through Bakersfield and Tehachapi to Mojave. Continue Hwy 14 soth and exit Ave A. Continue as Instructed above. Soar Utah 2006 features some of the best slope pilots in the country, as well as some of the most spectacular planes available. This year's AMA sanctioned event will feature trophies for the top finishers in PSS, Nostalgia, and Modern classes. In addition to the slope flying, there will be a social event on Thursday evening for people arriving early, a Saturday night BBQ, radio impound facilities on Saturday and Sunday, and a large raffle. |
