Contest Director: Marc Gellart
The current plan is to fly as many rounds as we can. When you are called to fly, have your frequency pin, transmitter, score card, plane and timer ready to go at the check in site. X5J eXtreme Rules Please read all rules, changes from 2006:
2. There will be three (3) 10 minute flights. One (1) point per second of flight time is scored with one (1) point deducted for each second over the 10 minute flight time. Maximum points possible = 600. (Round to the closest second for your flight time) Example: 9 minutes 50 seconds = 540 pts + 50 pts = 590pts
or 10 minutes 4 seconds = 600 pts –4 pts = 596 pts 3. Motor run time is unlimited but is subtracted from the flight time. Example: 600 flight pts - 19 motor run pts = 581 total round pts. 4. Landing points are measured from the center of the landing circle to the closest part of the plane. For each meter from the point, subtract 3 points from the maximum of 30 pts.
5. Motor handicap: See table below. Multiply the actual motor run rounded to the closest second by the handicap percentage. Round this calculated value to the closest 1/10th of a second.
Example: Cobalt motor
Motor time of 34.6 seconds calculates as: (35 seconds X 0.75)=26.25 seconds Round to 26.3 seconds 6. You may restart your motor as many times as needed, but on the second motor start you may not add any landing points. A second way of stating this rule: If you start your motor after the initial launch run of the motor, you will not receive any landing points. 7. Any type of rechargeable battery cell is legal (Lipo, Nicad, NiMh). 8. Rounds will be flown Man-on-Man (MoM). |
